Sometimes it’s hard to form an opinion about Shirley Sherrod.
At first, she appeared to be a hardened racist, discussing how she withheld some aid from a white farmer. But on further review, it turns out she was telling a story of reconciliation. But then, you listen to her words – “I took him to a lawyer of his own kind” – and you wonder again. But the story keeps shifting. We now learn that Sherrod’s father was shot to death by a white neighbor back in the mid sixties. This was reportedly over a disagreement about some cows – but at this point, who knows? I’ll say this. If my dad had been shot and possibly murdered and the grand jury refused an indictment – I might be scarred for life, too. After all this time, I’d be interested to know more about what happened to Shirley’s dad. Join me online at BeLogical.com. Until next time, be logical.
