There are just two problems here. Number one, the First Amendment protects political speech whether anybody likes it or not. By Lynn Woolley March 3, 2010 Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison is living under the cloud of a solemn promise. When she announced for governor, she told us she would resign the Senate -- win or lose. Turned out that “lose” is the operative word -- with only thirty percent of the vote. That means if Hutchison has a political future, it’s right where she is now -- in the United States Senate. |

By Lynn Woolley February 10, 2010 A funny thing happened on the way to the Texas primary. Or, a not-so funny thing if you happen to be a career politician. The rise of Debra Medina, a former also-ran candidate considered by the Perry and Hutchison folks to be nothing more than a gadfly, should not have been a surprise considering what happened in Massachusetts. So let us be the first to say it: unless trends change, Mrs. Medina is likely to face off against Gov. Rick Perry in the Republican runoff. |
